Description
The Testex digital gage simplifies the process of recording and storing replica tape profiles. With the push of a button an inspector can record time, date, measurement sequence number and profile height. At the end of a work day, the measurements can be uploaded to a spreadsheet on the inspector’s laptop or office computer.
- ● Bias offset permits automatic subtraction of tape substrate
● Selectable English (mil) or Metric (μm) units
● Record time and measurement with the press of a button
● Upload measurements via USB to a spreadsheet at end of day
● No special software required
● Anvil size, closing force, operation, etc. matched to Testex dial gage
● Intuitive design
Testex is the manufacturer of Press-O-Film replica tape. Press-O-Film provides inspectors and researchers a simple way to obtain an impression of a surface. Testex replica tape can be used with a Testex gage to measure the surface roughness ("profile") of blast-cleaned steel in the roughness range 0.8 to 4.5 mils (or 20 to 115 micrometers). Because inspectors, as a rule, have a target profile in mind. it is always best to start measurements with the grade of tape that has the target profile closest to the center of it's range.
